ArcGIS Maritime includes tools to manage and visualize maritime data and produce nautical charts. These apps and tools get several enhancements with the release of ArcGIS Pro 3.5 and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5.
In ArcGIS Pro, there are several updates pertaining to the new Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) standard, S-101, including updates to support version 2.0 of the S-101 product specification. The Export S-101 Cell tool has been updated to include new export options. You can now generate Updates, Reissues, and Cancels as well as New Editions, which was previously the only export option. Additionally, the S-101 compilation scale tools are updated so that you can set the compilation scale and minimum compilation scale for your chart products. This replaces the minimum and maximum display scale settings available in earlier versions of the Maritime ENC production software.
For more information on all the updates in ArcGIS Pro 3.5, refer to What’s new in ArcGIS Pro.
With the release of ArcGIS Maritime for ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5, Custom Chart Builder supports single page nautical charts, meaning that the explanatory notes, main panel, and zones of confidence diagram appear on a single page. Additional chart improvements include support for notes in a national language, and updated zones of confidence color fills, which now reflect S-4 RGB values.
Custom symbology is enhanced with dynamic text placement—text will now rotate around a feature to a nonconflicting location to improve legibility. Text can also be ungrouped through properties in the Lua text instructions, where the separateText property can be set to True.
On the Maritime Chart Service side, you can now perform tile package workflows including creating, updating, and replacing projects, through the command line.
Other enhancements include an update to the WWM.COF file to reflect World Magnetic Model 2025. Check out this Esri Community post to learn how to update the WWM.COF in your Maritime server deployment.
